THE 25 GREATEST DRUMMERS OF ALL TIME:
November is Drum Month at CBC Music: 30 days of features on the coolest instrument there is and the people who play it. To kick the whole thing off, we've put together a list of the greatest drummers of all time.
SEE THE ENTIRE LIST HERE
We assembled a panel of CBC producers and hosts, compiled the nominations and debated the rankings. Today, Drive pays tribute to the list with incredible stories and songs!
What makes them the greatest? Well, this isn't a list of the most technically proficient drummers. Sure, that's part of it, but we took a lot of other factors into account, including their overall musical contributions, their inventiveness and just how much fun they are to listen to. As with all lists, there are a few surprises and a few omissions, and it was extremely difficult to limit the list to 25.
What do you think of the list? Is there anyone who made the cut who shouldn't have? Are there any other drummers who deserve to be on the list? Let us know in the comments.
