Certain types of people like certain types of music. When you see the goth, the perky kid, the headbanger or the brooding outsider, you can make a pretty solid guess about what songs are on their "favourites" playlist. Why should hockey be any different?

From the popular kids to the retro and obscure, we look at the personalities of NHL teams and what that says about their musical taste.

This was kind of a fun little slideshow gallery thing although, if I may, I would disagree with the assessment of the New york Islanders... instead of calling them a past-their-prime rocker, I'd say they're a real up and coming team full of pep and youth, but in a blue collar sort of way.

And, since they are moving to Brooklyn soon, in a stadium part owned by the man himself, what about NY Islanders = Jay-Z?

For the Islanders' sake let's hope you're right, FT! We'll see in tonight's game vs the Oilers!

hmm, not sure what to think of those comparisons.  I'm a Bruins fan and I don't listen to any of that stuff.  It has to ROCK or it ain't worth listening to.

My taste in music is mostly Canadian, and I grew up near Hartford so I'm still a Whalers fan. Fancy that. If I go for a current team, it's either the Penguins, because I can, or the Jets, because they give me hope that teams can return, and I like their new logo! Oh, and both a bunch of local fans and a bunch of Canadian fans say the Jets are a good choice.

I have seen my team win 12 championships. I can't hear too much with all those rings jammed in my ears. TNX Patty and Mike

Flyers = Bobby 'Boris' Pickett's 'Monster Mash' abd bow includes the unintentional pun in the title.

This explains why I'm not much of a hockey fan. Springsteen is okay, but I don't like any of your other musical suggestions.
