Remember waking up after prom? Or graduation? Or just a really good night spent with friends? It's that feeling where you wake up just feeling good, even before you remember exaxctly why, and then letting the memories wash over you and make you feel even better.
Well, that's what I would be feeling this morning if I was a smart person. Instead, I attended the Polaris Prize gala last night and then proceeded to the Polaris Prize after party and consequently I will be waking up some time around the mid point of today's show.
The Polaris gala was, as usual, incredible. It once again managed to do the impossible - to function as a concert, as an awards show, as a symbol of everything that's good and beautiful about music in this country, and as an awesome party. Today on the radio show, I'll be sharing some of my impressions of the ceremony.
The big winner was Feist. You can stream her 2012 Polaris Prize winning album Metals right now on CBC Radio 3. And if you missed the show last night (or if you just want to relive it), you download the whole thing as one big podcast.
So: what do you think of the verdict? And, for those of you who tuned in to the gala, what were your favourite moments?
