A day after they celebrated their 32nd birthday, musical twins Tegan and Sara have released a new single titled "Closer." According to Tegan Quin, the synth-infused pop song is about young love in its purest form.
"Although I do imagine that ['Closer'] would be an OK song to make out to, all I intended was to write something sweet that reminded the listener of a time before sex, complicated relationships, drama and heartbreak," Quin shared with Rolling Stone.

"Closer" will appear on Tegan and Sara's as of yet unnamed seventh studio album, due in January 2013. Watch for a video due out next Tuesday.
