blog post Vote for the Radio 2 Top 20, week of August 31

My favourite song from last week "Nothing’s Gonna Harm You" by J.P. Hoe came in at #10 and was up 5. The Avett Brothers, "Live & Die" and Dawes, "If I Wanted Someone" (two other great songs btw!) both charted lower at 11 and 16 and both were down 2 from the previous week. Glad I still can but WHY can I still vote for them and not J.P. Hoe, that doesn't make any sense!?

Sorry but... I HATE THIS SHOW!!!  I listen to CBC to get away from this kind of crap!  Pretty much every other radio station out there has a top 10, 20, 100... use the imagination that i've always credited CBC with.  Ms. Duncan is fine.  It's the show that blows.

I completely agree with LibbyK. How is the selection being made on which songs actually get played on the top twenty? I am failing to understand how it was a logical decision NOT to play Royal Wood's song on the show when he received the most votes online. I am sure that that people who take the time to vote for their favourites online would appreciate if their song actually got played, or else what is the point of contributing?

Also – I agree with Ostrea's point. JP Hoe also got a high number of online votes, why was he removed from the list of potential top 20 when others barely received any votes and get the honour of staying on? What's the formula for a song's final place on the top twenty? How much do these online votes from loyal listeners actually count?

PS I miss Tom's Deep Roots too!!!
