Last February, we were sad to report the passing of Women guitarist Chris Reimer. Today, we've learned his family and friends are releasing a collection of solo recordings that Reimer was working on before his death. The songs were recorded for a tape that Chad VanGaalen was set to reproduce for the musician and have been dubbed "The Chad Tape."

According to album post on Bandcamp, Reimer's closest friends have gathered the songs intended for the tape, along with artwork hand-drawn by Reimer, and are releasing the cassette as the guitarist had intended.

The album will be available for purchase on cassette and digital download on Aug. 13, but both are available for pre-order now. Proceeds from "The Chad Tape" will go to the Chris Reimer Legacy Fund, which was set up by the Reimer family to provide scholarships for children in music and dance education programs.
