The 2012 Polaris Music Prize short list has just been announced. Music fans, armchair critics, and industry pundits will be lobbing aesthetic hand grenades until well after the winner is announced on September 24. You can listen to the nominees here, on CBC Music. Here at The Signal, we'd like to crowdsource our own winner to see how it jives with the Polaris Jury's final decision. So, we'd like to invite you to Hack the Signal, Polaris-style.
On the survey list below, you'll find music from each of the ten artists on the Polaris Short List. Choose your top three favourites, and we'll announce The Signal winner on Friday night, July 20. It's a great chance to get to know your 2012 nominees, and to put your two cents in the debate on who should take home $30,000, and an oversized novelty Polaris Music Prize cheque.
