It's been 50 years since the Rolling Stones first played for an audience. In the five decades since they climbed onstage at the Marquee Club in London, England, the Stones have evolved from a blues cover band to a stadium-filling monster act, with more great songs than any setlist could hold.
CBC Music is offering you a chance to look back at the band's amazing career by winning a copy of the book Rolling Stones 50. The winner will be announced Thursday, July 19 on Drive.
Enter to win by voting on your favourite Rolling Stones song, and we'll pick a winner from the voting pool. The winner will be announced on Thursday, July 19 on CBC Radio 2's Drive. UPDATE: The voting is now closed. Click here to find out which song won.
Cast your mind through the past (darkly) at the music of the Rolling Stones. Out of all their great songs, which do you think is the best? Base your decision on what song you think is their signature track, or just make a personal pick. In the end, we'll be able to see which song is the Rolling Stones' greatest hit. Will it be "Satisfaction"? "Jumpin' Jack Flash"? "Brown Sugar"? Some B-side the average person has never heard? Check back on Thursday, July 19, to find out.
