After being named for the Polaris Music Prize long list, it was a huge disappointment not to see A Tribe Called Red on the short list. Many people had not heard their hip-hop/pow wow hybrid sound and a short list nomination would have gotten them into more ears.

But the band is soldiering on, with your help. Despite the snub, this past week A Tribe Called Red's "Electric Pow Wow Drum" was most thumbed up here on CBC Music. So there is life after Polaris.
