@zoot [69]: Thanks for the confirm.  I'd tried playing some of the on-demand stuff, which didn't work, and eventually tried again on the first computer I'd tried, and after I got one of the on-demand ones to work, the stream worked.  So I also have no idea if that helps or if it's just better to wait 10 minutes.  But either way, it's good to know I'm not crazy.

it's going to be a gorgeous long weekend in Montreal...and I'll be stuck here on Canada day. Worst city to be stuck in for this.

BUT. I broke down and am taking the bus to Ottawa THAT EVENING after work; should make it in time for the 10 PM fireworks in the hill :) Good friends, gorgeous hill, fireworks and beer. Most excellent.

@ Bengineer-what do you mean, 'no such thing as free lunch?' we had this thing called Peoples' Potato' at Concordia: huge line of free, homecooked, vegetarian/vegan food (for those of us who are so inclined) and MAN it was declicious!

No Diggidy I like the way you work it no diggidy ya gotta back it up - that's the best kind of 90's R&B even though that's not really. Gotta love Bone Thugz. But when I think real 90's R&B, I think Monica and Brandy. Still don't like the WEeknd. I do however love weekends and epecially if it's a long one.

@Vish -- just finished listening to the interview; wow, the author is really passionate about Dylan!  Listening to him talk about the process and his experiences makes me want to read some of his other work which, on the surface, is of no interest at all to me.  It's interesting to hear both your impressions on Dylan's work recently and has made me want to go have another (several) listens to Time Out of Mind and Love & Theft because, while I recognized them as excellent pieces of work, I guess I'd never considered that they might be superior to Dylan's output in the 60s or 70s.

Well, I've got my homework for this sunny Canada Day weekend.  Thanks for posting that interview; it was a great one!

@ Vish: will listen to that awesome podcast on Sunday at work; but just wanted to say in case I'm busy when you are leaving, thanks for bein' with us this week! It was great to hear your voice for a longer period of time than I'm used to, at least, and it was a great show! The Wrath of Khanna is the most pleasant wrath I've ever encountered.

@laurita someone pays for it, you end up paying indirectly at some point. It's an old saying. It stems from an old tradition of enticing drinkers by offering a free lunch, they really paid for it by buying lots of booze.

I always get what I call A/C Face after being in a car with the A/C rollin'. It's kind of gross. I'm more of a windows down feller but I realize in certain parts of the land things are a little stickier than they are in others.

We had a super sticky day this week which resulted in mega thunder and a tornando touched down near Moose Jaw apparently. I only saw a sky full of super alien jellyfish clouds though. Still way cool.

@lauren - I won that Yuke Blo' album a while back (like April) but gave them the wrong address (I don't know where I live?) so I never got it! It's a good record though, no doubt and they are a great live band check 'em out if you can. They have a strange Ramones vibe about them... even though they sound nothing like the Ramones.

@Zammachus - I was at a Ticat v. Riders game in Ivor Wynne. The riders fans were out in full gear with their watermelon hats, flags and regalia. It was all good fun, everyone had a good time, no silly violence or intimidation.

To me, that is a Canadian thing. We can love our teams and support them, and don't have to be afraid about showing it in the opposition's venue.
