Every week on The Incident, I uncover a secret about the musicians you love. It could be a story from the road, a tale from inside the recording studio, or just one of the crazy things that happens to a working musician.
This Week: Nova Scotia native Joel Plaskett has been a fixture of the Canadian rock music scene for decades. His band Joel Plaskett Emergency pack halls, theatres and music clubs everywhere they go. Joel has many rock and roll heroes, but near the top of that list is a guy who is known for perfecting one of the great all time rock and roll beats, Bo Diddley.
A strange train of events saw Joel meet up with Bo Diddley not once, but twice before the rock and roll icon passed away. Joel Plaskett not only loved meeting Bo, he loved some of the stories he had to tell.
Bo Diddley signed his friend's fishing license. Bo Diddley explained why he wasn't crazy about horses. Bo Diddley was a huge lover of eating steak.
These stories and more in the Joel Plaskett Incident.
To hear about both of their meetings, listen here.
