In 2008 the Polaris Music Prize decided to announce their 40 album Long List. Being a fan of music and gambling, I decided to launch the CBC Radio 3 Polaris Prize Pool (think of it as a music nerd's version of a hockey pool… sort of.) Now in its 5th year, this little Prize Pool has official rules and everything, fancy! This year whoever correctly predicts the most albums to make the Short List will receive a $100 iTunes gift card!
What 10 albums do you think will be on the 2012 Polaris Prize Short List?
Who do you think will win?
Need a little help? Check out the Long List.
Use today’s blog to discuss your picks, banter with friends and start thinking about your final list. Once you have your final list of albums follow these handy instructions:
1. Read the official contest rules.
2. E-mail your list of the ten albums you think will be on the Polaris Music Prize Short List to prizepool@cbc.ca along with your name and phone number
3. Remember, to be valid, your entry must be received by 11:55pm PDT on June 28th, 2012
4. Should there be a tie or multiple entries with the same number of correct Short List predictions, a draw will be held among those entries to determine a winner.
5. The winner will be announced on Lanarama July 19, 2012
(Reminder, posting on the blog does not qualify, you must email your picks to PrizePool@cbc.ca to be part of the contest.)
