Radio 2 Drive
is celebrating the summer festival season by getting Up Close
to some of the artists that are appearing on festival stage across the country.
The Wolfe Island Music Festival is being held August 10 and 11. Wolfe Island
is the largest of the Thousand Islands and is located at the entrance to the Saint Lawrence River on Lake Ontario. A twenty minute fairy ride from Kingston, Wolfe Island is a quick way to escape from city life. And on the music festival weekend there is no better place to be.
Among the bands performing at this year's Wolfe Island Music Festival are the three bands we are featuring today on Up Close.
First up we've got the Sam Roberts Band recorded live at the bands debut Massey Hall performance on June 3, 2011.
Yukon Blonde gave CBC Music a special live debut of their latest album Tiger Talk back in February.
And my all-time favourite Canadian band Zeus dropped by the Drive studio for an Up Close session.
Enjoy the music and enjoy the Wolfe Island Music Festival!
