Although I think there is something to be said for some sensitivity to people who maybe are refugees from war zones, and have traumatic experiences associated with gunfire noises.

Also while we're speaking of children, I attended my daughter's Gr. 8 graduation ceremony last night.  The school trustee did a speech in which he was comparing / contrasting life as a Gr. 8 kid today vs. the 70's when he was in Gr. 8. 

One of his points was to compare the boy band craze - One Direction vs. Bay City Rollers.  Except he kept calling "One Direction" "One Dimension".  (which was awesome).  He seemed a little baffled at the laughs he was getting from the students, but I think he was #gladtogetanylaughs.

i was initially relieved they were going to use a klaxon, because that sounded it impressive.

the fact that it turned out to be a clown horn was both disappointing and frightening in a different way from the gunshot.

perhaps he should have just said "tally ho"  in a spirited tone.

What about all the children who may think they're about to be run over by a bicycle???

They may be stressed.

BCR gawd. the rollers were my faves. I think I still have some vinyl. When they play them in 'Love Actually' a Liam Neeson's wifes funeral it gets to me every time.

Parenting Tips For Pete Morey

I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be. Everybody searching for a hero. People need someone to look up to. I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs. A lonely place to be. So I learned to depend on me.
