Radio 2 Drive continues it's celebration of the summer festival season by getting Up Close to some of the artists that are appearing on festival stage across the country.
This week we feature three artists that will be appearing at this year's Home County Music and Art Festival in London, Ontario. The bands are Kathleen Edwards, Bahamas and roots rockers Cuff The Duke.
The Home County Music and Art Festival is being held July 20 to 22 and this marks the 39th year of the festival which makes it one of the longest running folk festivals in Canada. Another thing that sets the Home County Music and Art Festival apart from others is its location. While many festivals choose a tranquil country setting for the location of their festival the Home County Music and Art Festival is an urban festival with its main stage in London's downtown Victoria Park.
The Home County Music and Art Festival is also renowned for its juried craft show, showcasing 120 Canadian artisans. Craft booths include pottery, glass, jewelry, fine art, textiles, metal, wood, photography and gourmet foods.
And best of all admission is "pay what you can," and in this economy that means for many people it's free.
Here's a sample of what folks are in for when Bahamas, Cuff the Duke and Kathleen Edwards perform.
