Welcome to the Signature Series.

The key signatures of music are kind of like the signs of the zodiac.

If you take all the music that's been composed in a specific key over the centuries, you'll encounter certain characteristics.

Characteristics that define the kind of person you are.

Which key are you?

Hey Paolo!  Is there something missing in this post? I concede it could be somthing missing with me, as I can't figure what you mean by "audio tab".  I would like to meet Ms. AMajor.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. Yes, there is something missing - you need to go to the program page, and then you should be able to find the audio tab there. I've updated the post to include this info. Hope you enjoy meeting Ms. A Major! I'll be adding other keys in the coming days.

This is one of the most truly educational programs I have every had the pleasure of listening to, in that it quite successfully conveys the FEEL or emotive quality of each key signature--so far.  This must have something to do with what the ancient Greeks meant by Modes.  For fun, am playing a game with myself whereby I write down my impressions of the key signature  before it is aired on Inconcert.  Decided in advance that G Major was the happy, optimistic key, often making one want to dance to it, and that it contains an element of faith and hope for the future.  Am looking forward to the time when you have more key signature commentaries (and audios) posted.  Love this Signautre Series!  Thank you, Paolo!

This is great fun! Super job on A Major -- I'll look forward to hearing more of these. I realized a while back that I strongly discriminate against the major keys. When I have a classical CD with a half-dozen pieces, I tend to skip the ones in a major key altogether. I imagine this would be quite offensive to Ms. A Major. Keep 'em comin'...
