The new app gives Android device users immediate access to CBC Music wherever they are. With the touch of an icon, Android users can enjoy the best in Canadian and international music through 40 genre-specific web radio stations as well as CBC Radio 2 and CBC Radio 3.

Which versions of the Android OS are compatible with the CBC Music app?
CBC Music app requires Android 2.1 or later.
How much data does the CBC Music android app use per hour of listening?
Our music streams at 128kbps. The CBC Music mobile team estimates that the app uses approximately 60 megabytes of data per hour, or 1mb per minute.
Which streams provide track-by-track metadata, and which do not?
Current track, artist and album live data is available on all streams, with the exception of CBC Radio 2 in all time zones.
Does the Android app have an affiliate music store for in-app song purchases?
Not at this time, but this feature may be added in the future.
Can I stream CBC Music outside of Canada?
CBC Radio 2, CBC Radio 3, and CBC Records Classical are available worldwide. All other genre streams are only available in Canada.
Can I access music from the CBCMusic on-demand catalogue on the app?
The app currently allows access to our live streams only.
Is there a CBC Music Blackberry App in the works?
CBCMusic.ca is already fully-functional on the Blackberry Playbook web browser. For Blackberry mobile phone users, we hope to have a Blackberry solution in the future.*
