Similarly to how fans reacted to Arcade Fire winning record of the year at last year's Grammy Awards by filling Twitter with statements like "Who is Arcade Fire?", singer-songwriter Justin Vernon of Bon Iver suffered the same fate when he beat out Nicki Minaj, Skrillex, The Band Perry, and J. Cole for the best new artist Grammy.

Skrillex is pretty fantastic. I mean the whole resurgence of dubstep - and having people dance to really slow beats is really an amazing progression in music AND in dance. If he had won, I would've been just as happy.

Skrillex is pretty great, but I think the right person won! Bon Iver's album is outstanding!

Typical kids using negativity to describe something they don't know and displaying their ignorance to the twitter-verse, convinced that the mass-produced canned pop they listen to is the be all and end all. Too bad they don't think of using Google/Youtube/itunes to search out Bon Iver and widen their scope just a little more. Don't get me wrong, I love Skrillex, but in the context of the above collage their narrow-mindedness astounds me!

I loved seeing so many instruments when Bon Iver played on... was it SNL? It's nice to see more interesting artists getting recognition. People that are in it for all the right reasons.

Having said that, based on your comments, Tom Power, I'm going to look into Skrillex.
