The Academy Awards take place in Hollywood this Sunday, but rather than celebrate the best performances on the big screen we’re taking a look at the small screen - the very small screen: the 560-pixel YouTube frame where billions of music videos were viewed in 2011. Every day this week, we’re showing you the nominees and letting you vote in a different category of music video acting. Today, best comedic performance.
“Big Bad Wolf” by Duck Sauce (NSFW)
The guys from Duck Sauce play a couple of crotches. I’ve already said too much.
“When the Night Falls” by Chromeo
The gents from Chromeo play their irresistible selves on the run from their female admirers in this zombie movie spoof. Oh, and one more thing: their music has the power to instantly impregnate women.
“Walk” by Foo Fighters
Perennially funny rocker Dave Grohl pays homage to the 1993 movie Falling Down, as he snaps and proceeds to go postal on everyone he meets. Highlights include a beating with a piece of pepperoni and some good, old fashioned pants-wetting.
“Young, Wild, and Free” by Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa
Snoop and Wiz play students at N. Hale High School (get it?) and play out some classic Cheeck and Chong gags.
“Moment 4 Life” by Nicki Minaj featuring Drake
While this video isn’t funny from start to finish, Minaj plays her own fairy godmother in a charming scene off the top. I’m not sure it’s that funny, but it seems hilarious compared to Minaj’s unbearable serious co-star, Drake.
