Greetings to you this Sunday the 26th of Feb 2012. Pete Morey here.

The 84^th Academy Awards are upon us. Yes the good old Oscars 2012 have arrived.

Perhaps you’re a total Oscars grouch and you’re avoiding the whole thing. Instead you’re watching re-runs of Sesame Street on Netflix in your Pyjamas. Good for you. Let your grouch out of the trashcan.

Or maybe you love the Oscars and you’re preparing your acceptance speech, getting ready for your Oscar party as you listen to R3 Weekend.

If you haven’t seen any of the movies I’ve got some tips to make you sound smart at the party and I have a great Oscars drinking game to spice up the awards. Please enjoy your booze and R3 Weekend responsibly!

normally i would be attending/throwing a major oscars party with friends, film buffs, and indsutry people. this year, with my favourites Shame and Melancholia being ignored, i will be having a listening party with Peabody winner and CBC-producer regular Paolo Pietropaolo.

He lives in my hood and I see him and his mate howie beck pushing a stroller all the time!

& more on topic, I worked in video stores so years & kinda love the Oscars. having said that i wish there was more potential for surprises. & we are long overdue for a terrific acceptance speech. fingers crossed for that from Octavia Spencer tonight.
