@Lee Crazy, I lived on Mona Way near Madison/Manzanita before moving up here. Grew up in South Sac and watched it go from rural to ghetto in a span of maybe 15 years.

that's cool & i would never think that of anyone. but I don't feel any less a person for having watched it.

i'm sure it's easy to think i jumped on a bandwagon but those are some great actors i've seen in other stuff & was on the lookout. am also really proud & happy for my friend, Chris who is an ADA for them. i was watching from the get-go. it's not perfect but it's better than lots of stuff.

Fret not, my friend. I am long-used to being un-aware of "the latest thang". @musicjoy  we were at the coffee place across from Neptoon.  saw Grant and Nardwuar arrive, and many musicians i think, but i wouldn't have recognized them.  it looked like it was jammed in there anyway, so we watched and heard from across the street.

I seem to remember! About a decade ago, or so. I just had found out about Jerk With a Bomb and instantly loved them! Seems to me that Mike Usinger listed them as one of his then 'bands to watch' or one of his favourite local bands at the time. I don't think they were very well known, yet. In the Georgia Straight.

i have heard some crazy stories. there was a story in the NYTimes about some of them. despite my joking about it, i am not quite that crazy. but i was laughing about my local grocer having tea biscuits & PG Tips (Brit tea) on sale last week for the finale.

i will admit since thanks to Garfy, I had seen some in advance that the fun of season 2 for me was watching PAtton Oswalt become obsessed & live tweet his viewing parties. really funny stuff.

I've been wondering whether to say...

(Hope this doesn't sound rude.) I must admit I was a bit surprised to hear how civilised and mellow Mike Usinger sounds. I like alot of his music reviews (and have been critical of some) but I guess I tend to associate him with controversy. Quite often. People reacting to his reviews. What's that column again where you can complain about reviews? Maybe I imagined him to sound more snarky, etc.

I've met a few older, Mississippi musicians....one 83 or something...the other one, 90. Not well known or anything, I don't think. It was such a moving experience, tho. Talking with them both. Tho, at different times.

I haven't travelled alot to see and hear live music. But, whenever I do, it's usually so special and alot of fun!I've had to turn down two possible out of town shows, lately. That I briefly had considered trying to go to. Not turn down, but I realised it wasn't really reasonable to go.
