Toronto's Bishop Morocco bring new sounds with "Old Boys" from the EP of the same name.
Dreamy, skewed guitars and a heavy dose of chillwave are the new order of the day from the duo of Jake Fairly of Fairmont and Jim Sayce previous attached to acts like Tangiers and The Deadly Snakes.
"Old Boys" proudly brandishes all the markings of a track influenced by both BritPop and Techno, but avoids getting lost in the trap of meta-genre referentiality and maintains sonic individuality. It's a cool trip from an act with the chops to know the difference.
["Old Boys" was added to rotation this week on CBC Radio 3]
