Anyway... while I sit in silence...

My weekend plans involve going to Kitchener! Yay! It's my mum's birthday tomorrow so I'll likely head there tomorrow after work, lunch on Saturday and whatever on Sunday. Sadly, no music related things are planned as of yet but you never know what might happen! I still might go see Barn Burner tonight at Call the Office but we'll see...

So yeah, nothing to exciting! If anyone wants to join my mum's birthday lunch.. fell free but you'll be paying for your own meal... haha!

However, sometimes i find you have to click on "View Radio Streams" and choose 'radio 3', especially if you turned off the "auto-play" in your user profile.

My weekend: Very exciting! Well… some of it anyway.

Saturday I have a 2012 kickoff team building thingy for work that is usally kinda fun that despite workish-on-weekendy, does include beverages au gratis.

But, Sunday I am going to a house show that will feature Nick Zubeck, Marty Kolls and this up and comer Sebastien Fleet. And there's even a local chef from Growing Chefs Ontario that is catering the event.

I am pretty excited about that. And I am working with Marty to set up a couple other shows in the future.

Who posted the story about the limbless amphibian yesterday?

I work in a Biology Department and was talking to an amphibian person about it - he had a video of them. The babies have these ferocious little teeth and feed on the skin of their mom as she sheds layers of it. It is both super cute (when they yawn with their crazy little teeth) and disturbing to watch....

ok, so yesterday on cbc radio, i heard a story about flying squid. Basically some researchers at Dalhousie University found that squid travel 1000's of Kms by flying instead of swimming to save energy.

I have a comment regarding commenting on the rest of the site - I don't know where else to "say" it. I was just perusing a post by Ms. Lana gay on the topic of Fake Bands and saw that she was missing DethKlok from Metalocalypse (Greatest fake band ever, and that's a fact you can ca$h in on, at the bank) so I was going to add it in the comment section but lo! And Behold! The comments were closed! For some reason, with 0 comments added to this story (which asked for suggestions in the comment section) and which was just added yesterday, was closed! Saw the Sunparlour Players a week and a half ago at a small theatre show in Cobalt Ont. It was an awesome show. Saw Steven Page a few days later at a larger theater show and it didn't compare to SPP. It's a sad contrast but that's life in the North. Take what you can get.

Oh, my weekend: it will consist of rehearsals for the opera I'm stage-managing (which sounds way more impressive than it really is, because mostly it means I sit at a table and write things on Post-it notes while the talented people sing and act). kinda! fundamentally it's pretty basic (roll huge rock into circle) but there are all these other terms that announcers say that just don't make sense being a casual watcher. probably because, like most sports, it is harder than it looks.

2) Curling is awesome! I find they joke around on the sidelines more than they yell... Seems like a very friendly game. I got really into watching it during the Olympics.

My weekend: Dinner with friends of the family at my parents' house tomorrow evening and will hopefully hang out with some friends from my hometown.

I am also actually looking forward to cleaning up some of my junk in the basement at home. Getting things a little organized! ...Strange thing to be excited about, I know. I'm not used to it either.

@loweeda I've moved 7 times in the 7 years I've lived here (holy CRAP, I just realized that!) and during the last move (September 2010) I purged without even caring anymore. I got rid of so much stuff. I had 5 bins that I moved my things from New Brunswick with in '05, and now I have one.

I still get rid of things here and there when I can. I've only lived in apartments too, frightens me to thing what it would have been like in a house. Stuff is ANNOYING.

I really hope to not move for a while. I hope your sorting and purging goes as smoothly as possible!

Amusingly enough, I have never played. I'm a quick study on sports and their strategies so I picked up the rules and such quickly.

I would love to play but I'm currently living w/ my parents on a limited income so it's not in the cards. Maybe next winter, as you say. That will depend on where I'm living as well.
