Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” is going to win record of the year. If it doesn’t, what little faith I have left in awards shows will be gone for good. It was the song of 2011 and continues to get stuck in the heads and hearts of people who were living under a rock until 2012.
It is loved and referenced by music fans of all ages. It has been covered by every artist from Patti Smith to Linkin Park.
It is not just a damn good song, it is a fantastic song. It is so good it should make fireworks shoot out of Katy Perry’s chest.
I would argue that it is the song that spiked the sales of Adele’s album 21, which has remained in the No. 1 spot on the U.S. charts for 19 weeks straight.
It is winning record of the year.
