Prolific Halifax MC/producer Classified is usually a man of many words, but when it came time to fill out our questionnaire, he kept things brief. The respected rapper, whose latest album is 2011’s Handshakes and Middle Fingers, must be saving his energy for his cross-Canada tour with Hedley this month.
What was the first hip-hop record you ever bought and where'd you get it?
Either Rap Traxx 2 or Naughty by Nature's first album; I can't remember. I got it from the Bargain Shop (which was our Wal-Mart) in Elmsdale, N.S.
Where did the name that you perform under come from exactly?
I saw it in a newspaper and something about it just got me!
What was the last book you read and how was it?
It was Slash, the autobiography of Slash. Really good. I want Axl Rose's side of the story though.
Where is your favourite place to eat on planet Earth and what are we having?
Depends how I feel: steak from the Keg and mashed potatoes; Steak & Stein, if I'm feeling cheap; Chinese food from Wing Fu in Elmsdale; maybe a pizza or donair from the Pizza place in Enfield, and if I'm feeling fancy, homemade spaghetti and garlic bread
