Note: Thanks for all the great requests. We have filled our show with your music. Be listening on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. on CBC Radio 2 and 10 p.m. on CBC Radio One.

December is an amazing month here at CBC Music as we start preparing special holiday programming. There's so much great classical Christmas music, and it puts everyone in a festive mood.

This year, we'd like to share the joy by inviting you, the CBC classical community, to get involved. We've set aside a few hours on Christmas Eve on both CBC Radio One and Radio 2, and we'd like to fill them with your favourite classical Christmas music.

The show will be hosted by Katherine Duncan, and will be called All I Want for Christmas. This is your chance to share your favourite classical Christmas music with our radio audience across the country and around the world.

Send us your requests for carols, oratorio excerpts, concertos and symphonies, and be specific. If you have a favourite recording of a particular piece of music, please let us know.

We'd also like to know a little something about you and why you've chosen the music you have. Maybe you'd like to dedicate it to someone, or share a favorite Christmas tradition, or make a Christmas wish. Don't feel you have to write a novel, but please do offer a personal note or two for us to share with our listeners on Christmas Eve.

Submit your classical Christmas music requests and stories to classical@cbc.ca. It helps if you use the subject line All I Want for Christmas. Or, you can leave your request in the comments below.

We're looking forward to collaborating with you on this Christmas Eve special. Here are the broadcast details:
