There's absolutely no doubt that 2012 was a huge year for Canadian music, from Biebs, Bubs, Jeps and Drizzy* dominating charts worldwide, to indie artists such as Japandroids, Grimes and the Weeknd garnering substantial buzz on the internets.

If you think about it, we couldn't have picked a better year to launch CBC Music. To look back on the excellent year that was, we'll list the top albums of the year, explore some of the highs and lows of the music industry, including a remembrance of the talented artists we lost in 2012, and dig into some of the biggest music trends that happened. Plus, animated GIFs! Who doesn't love those?
And if that wasn't enough, we'll also be fabricating New Year's resolutions for your favourite Canadian artists, as well as pointing out who to watch for in 2013.
