The 2012 Western Canadian Music Awards (WCMAs) were handed out on Sunday, Sept. 30, at a gala ceremony in Regina, Sask., and Vancouver’s Dan Mangan had a big night. Riding high on the strong reception to his 2011 release, Oh Fortune, Mangan won prizes for songwriter of the year, rock album of the year and independent album of the year.
The WCMAs took place during BreakOut West 2012, a music conference and festival, and the gala featured performances from Mangan, Indian City and Sarah MacDougall and 2012 Hall of Fame inductees, the Northern Pikes.
