Today, we announced that Weird Canada was the winner of CBC Radio 3's Searchlight 2011 competition. Aaron Levin's site, based in Edmonton, AB, was voted by our listeners as Canada's Best Music Site.
Aaron Levin was floored when he took the call. When Grant Lawrence asked how he felt about the win, Aaron relpyed "It was really amazing to go on Twitter and see who was supporting these blogs... I feel really invigorated by all the support"

The runner up in our Searchlight competition was Hamilton, ON's Southern Souls, which is run by videographer Mitch Fillion. Moncton's Music Nerd came in third place. That site is run by Moncton, NB's Ken Kelly. Congratulations to all of our Searchlight 2011 winners and nominees!
