Plants and Animals is an intriguing meld of East Coast musicianship and Montreal musical sensibilities and with Lightshow from The End of That, Warren Spicer and company illuminate new paths for the group.
Compared to some of their previous popular offerings, like The Mapa Papa, Lightshow is a slower burn. Gone are the nervous energy and staccato beats, replaced with a driving rhythm that builds to a crescendo of jangly guitars and impassioned vocals.
It's a powerful and evocative track, definitely worth the attention of old fans and new listeners alike.
