I often suffer from envy. I feel like shopping would be so much easier if I could just walk up to people and buy the things they wearing. I do ask many people the origin of said item, and often hear “this super cute flea market in Ireland/Tibet/Patagonia.” It’s not that we don’t have great things here, it’s just that, well…

Case in point: our stamps. I have complained about this subject before. It’s not that I send that many letters, but when I do I want a tiny piece of art to accompany my missive. Is that so much to ask?

Today I came across an article about the Royal Mail’s tribute to classic album covers on stamps. And what a collection:

"The Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed, Led Zeppelin's IV, David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, the Clash's London Calling, New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies, Primal Scream's Screamadelica, Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, Blur's Parklife"

I checked out Canada Post to see what new stamps we have and found popular flags and flowers of Canada, the Olympics, and a tribute to the Montreal Canadians.

Sigh...
