Social networking can be a constant battle. You want to be found by the right people (employers, old friends) and want to not be found by others (that guy you sat next to in Grade 7 Science).  With recent changes to Facebook’s privacy policies, and the whole lurking nature of the online world, its been apparent that more people are taking account of what personal information is available online. Many want to "Ungoogle" themselves.
