Facebook’s 350 million members collectively spend 10 billion minutes on the site every day.  Yet many people predicted 2010 will be the year of Facebook exodus. Why? As the New York Times headline reads “To Deal With Obsession, Some Defriend Facebook”

Facebook is noticing. They recently blocked the IP address of web 2.0 killer  www.suicidemachine.org after they helped more than 500 users forever "sign-out", defriending more than 50,000 users. Ouch!

The popular web app lets you "delete all your energy sucking social-networking profiles, kill your fake virtual friends, and completely do away with your Web2.0 alterego” and currently runs with Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and LinkedIn.  Don’t worry, you won’t be forgotten, you have a chance to leave your last words on their testimonials page.

HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED “SOCIAL [networking] SUICIDE”?
What’s the best thing that’s happened because of social networking? The worst? Most awkward?

Here’s what some people around the office had to say:

“I thought I gained weight after high school.. thanks facebook!”
“How else would I be able to stalk my ex… thanks facebook!”
“I thought my kids were ugly…thanks facebook!”
