I'm the Hired Gun for Grant Lawrence today, ready to start your first work week of 2010 in big-thinking style.
This may
seem like an ironic observation, but I’m happy to be back at work and not
thinking so hard. By that, I mean no more small talk at parties and family gatherings --
small talk that usually turns into something bigger.
Not
that all the talk was so bad, really. It’s a reminder that people are
paying attention and have some pretty great ideas on how things could work better, from the environment to music to
film to home design (my friends just renovated their kitchen and it was all
and only white -- nothing else). Maybe it was just holiday excess, but I was
suddenly inspired to throw away everything and start over.
But I know
that’s a bit excessive, too. So instead I thought we could share some of our
big ideas during today's show. Over at the BBC, there is a show about this very topic called "The
Forum – A World Of Ideas." It features innovative thinkers discussing today’s
biggest ideas, but also leaves room for the un-professional, non-designated “thinkers”
to wade in with their thoughts.
Today
at CBC Radio 3, you are the big thinkers. So have at 'er…
WHAT
ARE SOME OF YOUR BIG IDEAS?
HOW
COULD WE MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER
PLACE?
OR:
WHAT
SHOULD I HAVE FOR DINNER?
WHAT IS
THE BEST SONG TO LISTEN TO WHEN I AM SAD?
No idea is too big or too small. So share away...
