Ha! Interviewing Tegan & Sara for ABC News here in the states, I won a beauty pageant the night before and didn't stay at my place.  I ended up wearing a see-thru skirt to the interview and had to sit on the couch wearing a blanket to cover my girly parts!

Other than that,  great show talking about the late-night circuit and how important that is for artist exposure.  I have a lot of friends who have performed on Letterman (like Raveonettes, Matisyahu & Aaron Dugan) and I think there really is something rewarding about saying "I'm playing Letterman tonight".  And figuring out what to wear on the show!

I think I was on the news once, in the background during a sporting event my dad was involved in... ?  Not so impressive.

Like tb3, I hope that won't be my only time, I'm sure I can do better than that!

I was in the audience for the Saturday Night Live where Janet Jackson hosted right after her "wardrobe malfunction".

My brother Gordie and I had to sleep overnight on the street using pizza boxes for padding to get tickets. Cockroaches were literally crawling out of the sewers tring to find food in our makeshift pillows. I crushed one with my shoe and it squirted all over the Jersey Girls waiting behind us. We convinced them that Canadians pronounce sandwiches "sammiches".

That was the episode that featured the "Cork Soakers" sketch with Jimmy Fallon. Funny stuff.

ironic subject, all things considered this week.  with late night us tv & all.  so here's a 'sub-question'

if Conan moves over to Fox (which sounds like a strong possibility), what effect do you think that will have on where bands play?  he has some pretty great bands on & has always been 'Canuck-friendly'.

i'm actually wondering about the effect on Jimmy Fallon.  he's had some great bands (um...Japandroids just last week) & already some really interesting moments.

any thoughts?

That bit with Chad VanGaalen and Mark Feddes on Letterman is a permanent classic of awesome. Leave it to Chad to figure out a way to make his appearance on late night American TV something you'd never expect. And the way Letterman twitches his hand after the goodbye handshake? Like he's been electrocuted by genius!

I wonder if Dave's people know that big stoner in the blue toque went on to become one of Canada's great indie artists, signed to Sub Pop? Someone should tell them... someone they'd listen to... someone at the CBC...

I was wondering if there's a chance for him to go back and play musically and Dave et al thought 'hasn't he been here before?'

One year I was the president of the Student Union at the University of Saskatchewan and I had the priviledge of being on the Rick Mercer show. Actually I toured him around, so I was like his host all day. I even made a few jokes and had a laugh track added when the shoe aired. You really do sound funnier when a robot is laughing at your musings.

like they would let me on television. I am still puzzled why I was ever allowed on radio?
