For the past week, I - like all of you - have been riveted by the scenes of devastation and chaos following the earthquake in Haiti. It's
hard for most of us to even wrap our minds around that amount of loss. And then there is the ultimate re-building of almost an entire nation. Yes, buildings can be re-built, but families cannot. They can just start again from where they find themselves at that exact moment.
I really cannot find appropriate words to express precisely how I feel when I see the pictures from Haiti. But after the chaos in the streets and after the desperation, there has to be hope. Because, think about it: nothing would be worth it if it weren't for hope.
I know this song doesn't directly apply to a tragedy like Haiti, but it's message is perfect, I think.
