Besides the requisite rest and relaxation, another perk of having time off is returning to work. Yes, you read that correctly. After a holiday, I love returning to work and catching up on all of the artists that have joined CBCRadio3.com while I was away. They're like dozens of unopened Christmas gifts!
Last week, I found Halifax's Moonshine Ramblers. I know! With a name like that, they are already great, right?
I've said it here before, and it bears repeating: I. Love. Great. Harmonies. And these guys have those in spades. Unabashedly roots-folk-country, Moonshine Ramblers are an homage to bluegrass ancestors like The Monroe Brothers or Ralph Stanley, but their boots are planted firmly in the here and now. Great music, well-played.
I hope 2010 tour plans bring them west, because I'd love to see these guys live.
