I'm partial to Fucked Up, but I can see why it's probably not a good choice.  I, on the other hand, find Damian's growling to be very sweet and sensitive.

If I was to impress a girl, however: light a few candles &  put on some Royal Wood, Ohbijou, Feist, and Peter Elkas.  ya know, anything that's really "romantic".  Hopefully I have wine on hand to make me seem more handsome. ha ha.

If that all fails, I go straight to the Barry's: White & Manilow.  If that still doesn't work, I put on japandroids "I Quit Girls" and cry myself to sleep, alone.  Like usual.

I bet most everyone has done some tongue tangling to the tune auld lang syne, you know the New Year's song. But my personal favourite would be any track from the Great Lake Swimmers' albunm, Ongiara.

I do challenge everyone to try it to power metal, oh Dragonforce, you've seen me through some awkward times.

Forsure. The Peak has been playing it quite a bit (FM radio station in Vancouver) and it's made me pull out Into Your Lungs (and around..) and run through it many times in the past few weeks. If I was a woman I'd have a very hard time controlling myself around Tim Baker...

Attack in Black's newest disc is very moody as well.  In fact, "I Could Turn" is probably the sweetest song that nobody listened to last year.  (maybe in a tie with "I'm So Glad" by Royal)

Final Fantasy works good too.  Strings = heaven = love. I think. 

Also, jazz or the blues or something really old timey is great babymakin music.  You can really get into the groove... with the groove.  Problem is that I don't really own too much jazz outside of Miles Davis, so a Tribe Called Quest usually has to do.  As for the blues, that's more like Muddy Waters, BB King, John Lee Hooker, or RL Burnside. Really, the blues is for any type of mood. 

Yeah, final answer, I like the blues.  I think i can probably add Jill Barber's chances on the list whenever it arrives in the mail :D

Would have been side one of Air Supply if I hadn't been too nervous to kiss Margie Dupeck at that Grade 8 makeout party at Dave Pollard's house.

But the first time I had a serious kiss, I am pretty sure it was Kim Pickering at my house in Grade 9, she was in Grade 10 (I upgraded!) and I don't think  we  were listening to music cause we were in the rumpus room. And everyone knows the stereo hifi was in the front room upstairs.

I'm still waiting for my second kiss.

I'd leave the heavier make out music off the list...that's definitiely a podcast of its own. But I don't think you could make a Doin' It podcast...I mean,...I love you Grant, but I don't think having you talk between songs that are supposed to be played during ....yah. That would awkward...UNLESS you made it funny...like "Can I get you anything? A glass of water?"

then there is the problem of how long that podcast would be.

Thanks for playing “Lonely Love” in place of my particular Joel Plaskett request.  I am glad that turned out to be the case because I tend to skip over slow songs lately, so I didn’t even realize that “Lonely Love” is on “Three” because I must always skip over it.  Sad, eh?  Very pretty song, I will have to go out of my way to listen to it some more!

I have found that the dark, smooth tones of Lightning Dust make for good make-out music...maybe not in the daytime though.

I always thought Oleander by Sarah Harmer would be a nice slow dance song.. and is sort of about accepting a person (or plant) for what it is.

I'm a total sucker for the Royal City album "Little Heart's Ease". Such great romance on that record! Specifically the track "O Beauty" - perfect 'let's make out in the car while the light is red and get honked at by other cars when the light turns green' music.

I'm always thrown off by the beginning of 'Sweet Nancy' by Peter Elkas - it sounds like a part of  'Don't You' by Simple Minds (the Breakfast Club song).

when my partner and i got married, we had our first dance to "lush love" by The Silver Hearts.  we were living in Peterborough at the time and loved to see them on Wednesdays at the Montreal House.  we drank beer and dances and pretended to stumble like we were taking turns being intoxicated.  the family and friends loved it!  so did we.

i never hear the Silver Hearts on r3.  they are great and i think you should play them!

the first one is the trailer for Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

The second is a link to a cartoon episode of the Three Stooges. The boys get hired to play the organ at a silent movie theater. The organ is air powered by pedal push. Everything starts out ok, but as the movie turns more and more disastrous so does the music making. Eventually the whole place gets flooded and the the theater is swimming after the stooges firing at them. Plus it has a sketch with the stooges working as waiters but to them the interactions are no different than at a gas station!! It has a line my brothers and sisters loved as kids (we had a VHS from our grandparents that had these cartoons on them) Did you have just insulted a great man from the state of {clap clap clap} Texas!

i can't actually think of my first make out song (via end of high school bf)... the scary thing about that thought is the fact that it was the punk, pop-punk, ska, emo time in many of my age group's lives...
