It's Friday folks - did that week go by fast or what?!!!

I'm not sure what you've got planned for your weekend but I'm guessing that it'll involve music in some way. Maybe you're going to see a show, maybe you're just spending time at home listening to that new vinyl record. Why do I get the feeling that you're pretty into music?

So here's what I'm curious about today. You know how they say that opposites attract? Well, does that still apply when we're talking about musical tastes? If I look at my group of friends I'd say that most of them are into music, music that I like or at least appreciate. I do have one friend who loves Reggae and though I like Reggae, it's not what I want to listen to all the time. Still, his tastes are diverse and there are other styles we agree on, so ultimately we get along.

Now if I was dating someone, this would be even more of an issue - could I date someone who only listened to top 40 radio and thought Tom Waits was a bad singer?

We've found some musical couples to play for you on today's show (who likely share similar tastes?), we'll talk to someone from Divine Intervention about music and matchmaking and we'll have Tony Dekker of Great Lake Swimmers on to shed some light on the subject as well.

And as usual, this show would be incomplete if we didn't hear from you on our POLL QUESTION today...

COULD YOU HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE THEIR MUSICAL TASTES? Friendships, dating? Has anyone ever influenced / changed your musical tastes?
