We push along through the week folks - already Thursday!!!
When I was younger, I used to get really excited to watch the Grammys. The last few years, not so much. I suppose the music I like and listen to now isn't that represented at the Grammy Awards anymore.
There are a few things I'll be keeping my eye on this year however. Montreal's Beast is nominated for a Grammy for best video which is pretty cool. As well, 2 iconic Canadian artists are poised to recieve some high honors this year. Leonard Cohen will take home a Lifetime Achievement Award while Neil Young will receive the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year Award for both his charitable and artistic contributions.
We'll talk some Neil Young with writer Kevin Chong on today's show as well as hear from Dan Mangan who is in Los Angeles right now getting ready to play the Canadian Blast @ the Grammys Showcase along with Hey Rosetta! and K'Naan to be broadcasted here on R3 LIVE today starting at 5pm Pacific.
So, tell me...
DO THE GRAMMYS MATTER TO YOU? Should they matter to Canadian musicians? Will you be watching on Sunday night?
