When I first posted this, there was only one thread about the Buckeys online 12 hours ago:

Cœur de pirate? Why? The sweetheart known as cœur de pirate has not only warmed up to the hearts of CBC Radio 3 listeners, but caught the attention of Gossipers such as Perez Hilton. She sings sweet slow songs that could be used for a slow wedding dance and upbeat songs that could get people dancing and attempt to try singing the lyrics, even though most listeners here don't know any French!

Her cameo with Chocolat (aka Jimi Hunt) is a reason why Quebecoise musicians like her rock!

The best reason to learn French is 2009, and every year for that matter is the brilliant film Bon Cop Bad Cop. The scene explaining the uses of Tabernacle on its own is worth the price of admission.

Cœur de Pirate! All the way! Mostly because I wish I could sing along rather than trying to form vaguely sounding French words along with the tune. I could blame Ontario schools but that's taking the easy but mostly right way out.
