When I first saw hip hop artist K-OS play some years ago at the Liberty Lounge, I remember how surprised I was to see him strumming and picking the acoustic guitar for most of the night. Sitting down and playing the guitar if I remember correctly. It was a cool vibe.

London Ontario's Shadrach Kabango aka Shad brings a similar aesthetic to his hop hop style, incorporating the six-string in there with turntables, keys and a rhythm section.

In this Session, you'll hear live off the floor versions of "Rock to It" and "The Old Prince Still Lives at Home" (written while sitting in his parents basement one day reflecting on the good life, he says) as well as learn a little more about Shad's penchant for fast food.

This CBC Radio 3 Session was recorded in Toronto in November, 2008.
