If you can't beat 'em, start your own.

That would be a fitting motto for You've Changed Records, a new label that has just been formed by Steve Lambke of the Constantines, Dan Ramano of Attack in Black and Jesse Stein of SS Cardiacs and Miracle Fortress.

"You've Changed is a record label run by musicians," says their MySpace page. "Musicians who know what they want from a record label. And what they don't want."

The label was originally formed as a way for Attack and Black and Baby Eagle - Lambke's solo project - to release a split EP together. (That's slated for release this summer.) But then the collaborators decided to add Shotgun Jimmie to their roster, and it's growing from there.

"Shotgun Jimmie had been recording a new record at the Attack In Black studio," says the site, "and after a brief discussion one night after a session, the decision was made that You've Changed would be releasing Still Jimmie on LP and digital download on March 10th 2009."

The label founders also promise "much more by other wonderful Canadian artists to come," so stay tuned...
