When Feist embarks on her cross Canada tour this fall, not only will she be giving music to her fans; she’ll be giving food and charitable donations to those who need it most.

With the help of local affiliates, the Canadian Association of Food Banks will organize food drives at every stop, and fans are being asked to bring non-perishable food items to the venue. And every night, one donor will receive a special piece of Feist memorabilia, custom made for food drive winners.

"It's exciting to see an artist like (Leslie) Feist show her support to Canadian food banks by initiating this concert food drive." says Katharine Schmidt, executive director of the CAFB. "We know that food banks in each of the 13 communities she will be playing will greatly benefit from the generosity of her audience."

But the food banks aren’t the only beneficiaries of the chanteuse’s generosity: all of the proceeds from Feist merchandise sales will go to CARE Canada, MSF (Doctors Without Borders) and War Child Canada.

I think this is awesome what Feist is doing. There are many people and families that benefit from food banks. It is nice to see Feist doing this type of work. I am a social worker so I think this is too cool.
