I'd also like to add, a few years ago when I was but an R3 newb, I didn't own a single album on the shortlist. That was rectified, and I got into a lot of great artists, not the least of which, the winner Final Fantasy.

This year, I'm proud to notice that I already own about 50% of the albums, and have a list sitting at my desk of albums I want to purchase that includes about 25% of the remaining. And that's from the Long List! :)

Oh sure… make me do all the work of going back to the list of ten I guessed at when the long list was announced.

Does that mean that R3 Polaris pool is till on?
The one I am pretty sure not to be anywhere close to.

Wow, that was certainly surprising. No love for Buck 65 or The Constantines - those two were on my "for sure" list!

Kudos to all the nominees! (But I hope The Weakerthans will win. :)

Cadence weapon is on the cutting edge of hip hop these days, no? Would have liked to see him there, but better yet, I'd love to be privy to the conversation on that secretive discussion group that put him off the list.

Chris you should have asked Basia if she ever played ball for the CHRW (Radio Western) team when she was a DJ at the station? My guess is she did. And if that's the case I could send you the CHRW radio ball team jersey to wear when they announce the winner… you know in case.
