Because my obviously wealthy French-Canadian pal, Alexandre Courteau, is off yachting around Greece (not a euphemism), I turn to Montreal listener Sarah for a great - if surprising - French Connection pick for today's show.

I'll also be calling R3TV producer/best boy, J. Juicy Jordan Kawchuk to find out what's on for tomorrow's episode. Plus, I'll reveal how possessive he is of his sports socks.

And because Alex is gone next week, I'm asking for your help (please) to spin a French Connection track for next Wednesday's show, too! Comment below and let me know a great French-language track that you think people need to hear!

Does Martha Wainwright count for French connection? Cause I know a song she does en français that would just be loverly that I would le pimp for FC

I became hooked on "Genticorum" after seeing them at the E-ville folk fest many years ago, but alas, they do not seem to be on NMC.
Can anyone recommend another band that plays some toe tapping, violin string breaking, completly un-intelligible, old school quebecoise?

Hey Craig - I'm with you on the margerine thing, with the exception of this song:

I'm still not sure what the title has to do with the song, but it's an old school Canadian classic if you ask me.

Margerine is usually just as bad for you, at least it used to before they got rid of the trans fats. Still, it's hydrogenated and that's what makes butter fat bad for you. As long as you don't eat tons of it you might as well use butter since it tastes way better than margerine. Well, I suppose some people must like the taste, although it sucks for cooking doesn't it?

How about something by Les Trois Accords, I'm talkin something from their old album, Les Gros Mammoth Turbo (excuse my spelling), my summer of 2004 in Jonquiere, Quebec was full of Hawaiiene (once again the spelling) and Loin d'ici, if you've got either of those tracks Craig I highly recommend them
