The Strumbellas are back with the followup album to their Juno-nominated debut. The Toronto alt-country band's new album, We Still Move on Dance Floors, is out on Oct. 22, but CBC Music is the only place in the country you can stream the album before its release. Listen in the player below, and you can pre-order the album on iTunes.
We Still Move on Dance Floors
Out Oct. 22
The Strumbellas' debut, My Father and the Hunter, was nominated for a Juno this year for roots and traditional album of the year, losing out to Elliott Brood. For We Still Move, the Strumbellas travelled cross-country and cross-borders to Seattle to record with producer Ryan Hadlock (the Lumineers, Metric, Stephen Malkmus, Mister Heavenly).
The result is nine tracks that veer from roots to country to foot-stomping, hand-clapping pop, in the case of a song like "End of an Era" (which began as a mispronounced "Love in the Time of Cholera").
The Strumbellas have announced a few shows in B.C., Alberta and Ontario, with more on the way. Check them out here.
The album's first single is "In This Life."
