The new album from Juno Award-winning rapper Shad is a densely packed manifesto on life and love, success and failure, with plenty of the sharp wit and humour we've come to expect from the 31-year-old rapper.

Before Flying Colours comes out on Oct. 15 (pre-order it here), we want to give you a chance to listen to it here, and really, what better way to introduce the album than have the man himself present it?

Shad sat down with CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos to play Flying Colours in its entirety and go through it, track by track, talking about the stories and inspirations behind each song. It's the way Shad wanted his fans to hear the album the first time, by giving each song the context they deserve.
