The 2011-12 season marked 25 years on air for CBC’s flagship roots and blues radio program, Saturday Night Blues. Host Holger Petersen has been sharing his wealth of musical knowledge, and his extensive record collection, with fans across the country and around the world for all 25 of those years.

In April of 2011, CBC filmed a concert featuring Colin James Band, Colin Linden, Shakura S’Aida, Jim Byrnes, Donna Grantis and Tom Lavin to celebrate the milestone. Video clips from that concert are available at CBC Music.

But if you live in Alberta, you can enjoy the concert on Saturday, July 21, at 7 p.m. on CBC TV Edmonton and Calgary.

Here is a taste of the show, with Colin James and his band performing “Man’s Gotta Be a Stone.”
